Please remember that the renovation requirements of heritage wooden windows does vary. These ‘expect to pay prices’ are average costs but representative of the windows that we encounter everyday. Draught Seal & Overhaul Traditional Sash Window.

Upgrading with laminated Hush Glass has many benefits including noise reduction; Greatly reduced ultra violet (UV) light penetration, that is the cause of faded surfaces; Grade A safety rating and improved security.
Doubling the thickness of the glass is also doubling the weight and so the sash weights must be re-balanced.
Expect to pay from $1400 per window including ‘Sash Seal’ procedure, replacement glazing and lead weights.
Standard laminated glass is also available from $1300 per window.

A wide range of repairs are possible with timber windows and many that might initially appear to be beyond salvage have been restored to good working order.
